This month the Cambridge Writing Centre launched at Anglia Ruskin University. Six alumni of ARU’s Creative Writing MA read from their latest works, including poems inspired by Lapland, a black comedy thriller set in Cambridge and an extract of a gritty novella.
It was an inspiring evening and interesting to hear successful authors share their experiences of publication, getting agents and the highs and lows of being a writer.
The Cambridge Writing Centre is a practice-based research centre based at ARU, dedicated to sharing knowledge in the field of creative writing. It integrates short stories, poetry, dramatic writing, science fiction and fantasy, and weird/gothic fiction, as well as interactions between and hybrids of these genres.
