Ely Writers is a group of writers from the Ely district of Cambridgeshire and the surrounding areas and who meet regularly in Ely.

We don’t profess to be experts in writing, but we are learning with every month that passes.

Purpose

We aim to support each other during the writing process. We do this by:

• being a safe place to read our work out loud, even if it’s first draft. Any criticism given must be solicited, relevant, constructive and politely given. Find out more
• being a sounding board for ideas
• motivating each other when we lose focus and willing
• sharing writing tips we’ve learnt ourselves and come across elsewhere
• being respectful, polite and not self-publicising. Find out more.
