Cambridge Writing Centre presents World-building: a fantasy-writing workshop

A fantasy land stretches out to the far horizon, where mountains meet the sky. The sky is blue at the top, turning yellow as the sun (not shown) sets or rises (it looks like sunrise to me). A couple of fluffy white clouds dot the sky, where strange creatures fly. In the foreground is a lake with a boat. Unclear vegetation edges the lake, leading away from it to wooden buildings and trees of teal and crimson. In the midground, two castle rise in opposition to each other, the one on the right taller and more impressive. They both have pointed turrets with blue roofs. The following writing is overlaid: "Ely Writers. Cambridge Writing Centre. Worldbuilding: a fantasy-writing workshop."

Cambridge Writing Centre presents World-building: a fantasy-writing workshop

One of our Ely Writers attended the launch of the Cambridge Writing Centre recently. Now, they’re presenting a workshop on world-building in fantasy writing.

A fantasy writing workshop with tutors from Anglia Ruskin University in collaboration with Cambridgeshire Libraries. Explore building a world for fantasy storytelling — how can we draw on our own experiences to lend credibility and poetry to a depiction of another place?

This is a free event for adults.

Booking essential. Book via Eventbrite, call 0345 045 5225, email huntingdon.referral@cambridgeshire.gov.uk, or ask at the library.
