Meeting notes

We met on Wednesday, as usual, and had lots to talk about. We’ve been concentrating on what we’ve been writing, which we always enjoy. But even more exciting this week: one of our members had a new idea for a story.

It’s a science fiction story, and we talked about the underlying science of it. I’m squeamish, so I found some of it a bit gross, but the story itself, once it knows where it’s going, is intriguing enough.

New task

I talked about structuring my novel, based on notes from a creative writing course I attended a few years ago. As a result, our task for the next meeting is to develop the structures of our novels. We reckon this will help the exciting new science fiction story work out where it’s going.

Next meeting

Our next meeting will start at 6 o’clock in the evening on Wednesday 11 October. We’ll be in the back room of the Cutter Inn beside the river in Ely.

Over to you

How do you structure your story? Do you use ten key scenes, an eight point story arc or something else? Let us know in the comments!
