Retelling classic tales
We all know there are only seven basic plots for stories. That doesn’t mean stories can only be told seven ways. Every person has their own experiences that inform the way they write and what they write about. One story can be rewritten uniquely by every person that attempts it. Find out how in Artemis Writers’ workshop.
Artemis Writers is excited to present [their] next workshop, and this time, [they’re] exploring retelling classic tales. From the mythical Circe to the modern twists of Ten Things I Hate About You to the darkly beautiful The Bloody Chamber by Angela Carter, [they’ll] explore the many ways you can retell timeless tales. [They’ll] also take inspiration from the influential play It’s True, It’s True, It’s True by Breach Theatre, which brilliantly reimagines historical events.
Whether you’re a seasoned writer or just starting out, [Artemis Writers] welcome you to join [them] in this in-person event.
Heather and Sophia, writers and qualified teachers, are eager to support your writing journey. Come learn, create, and connect with fellow writers in a warm and inclusive atmosphere. Whether you’re a seasoned writer or just starting out, you’ll find a place here.
