Some of our members write in English, despite it not being their native language. We understand it isn’t always easy to write in a language you didn’t grow up speaking, so it might be nice to have some support from a regular group, such as this one at Cambridge Central Library.

Are you looking to improve your English?

Improve Your English is a casual group run by dedicated library staff. During the weekly sessions we will read through selected local news articles and extracts and discuss the use of language in the text.

Join us every Wednesday from 5–6 p.m. to read and learn together with like-minded people.
Places are free and there’s no need to book, just drop by! The sessions will be held in our Conference Room on the Third Floor of Cambridge Central Library.

For people aged 18 and over

NB One session a month will clash with Ely Writers monthly meetings.
