Ely Writers meeting 9, December 2022: review

Free writing

This month, the free-writing session was the colour blue in any form.

As usual, I took one of the characters in my current story to see what would happen. There’s always a chance that I might come up with something good enough to put in the story itself. I think I might have: Teresa is in the haberdashery looking at blue fabric. Blue for a boy.

Workshop

This month, we looked at dialogue.

We looked at the aim of dialogue, how to write it and how to couch it in the narrative.

Readings

We heard a reading each from two of our members this month. It always amazes me how much writerly talent there is in Ely. Keep it up, folks!

Next meeting

It will be a whole new year when next we meet on 4 January 2023. Will you resolve to write more?
